Open 12-6, Wednesday-Saturday, during exhibitions

Matthew Bown Gallery understands contemporary art as an international exchange of ideas and practices. Its programme reflects a pan-European axis: London-Berlin-Moscow; a consciousness of Berlin as a major centre of contemporary art and a meeting point of West and East European culture, both historically and today, informs the contribution that the gallery aims to make to the cultural life of the city.

Matthew Bown Gallery opened above the Huntsman tailor shop at 11 Savile Row, London, in 2006. At the end of 2007 the gallery was forced to close because of the expiry of its lease. The gallery re-opened in the former apartment of Bundespraesident Walter Scheel at 10 Keithstrasse, Berlin, in late 2009. The current premises, since re-opening in 2019, is in the heart of one of Berlin's established gallery districts.

The gallery runs an intern programme. Applications are accepted from people wishing to gain experience of working in the art world.
